Merch & Pattern Design

“Designing for Brands I Love Until They Notice Me” is a self-initiated series where I imagine and pitch surface pattern, apparel, and merchandise concepts for brands I genuinely resonate with. Each piece acts as a mini case study — studying their visual language, exploring unmet opportunities, and crafting design solutions that build on their narrative. Shared across social platforms, this project merges creativity, strategy, and community engagement.

Uggs Merch Pitch

Developed and pitched a seasonal “Winter Wonderland” collection to UGG, featuring cozy creatures in cozy pajamas, illustrated hangtags, and additional merchandise concepts. The proposal reflects the growing industry trend toward whimsical, hand-drawn illustration and artist-led collaborations, as seen in partnerships such as Loewe x Louis Luan and Louis Vuitton x Murakami, as well as Goyard’s illustrated digital experience. This direction also offers strong potential for a seasonal children’s campaign.

Trader Joes Merch Pitch

Trader Joe’s tote bags have become widely popular, yet their minimal designs don’t fully reflect the brand’s warm, community-driven shopping experience. Inspired by Trader Joe’s relationships with local farmers and the feeling that there’s a little something for everyone in every aisle, I designed a family-friendly, harvest-themed tote and T-shirt meant for customers—not just employees—celebrating food, seasonality, and shared moments.

Nami Matcha Merch Pitch

Nami Matcha, founded by YouTuber Ashley Alexander, is a Gen Z–loved brand built on the idea of being “extra dynamic.” Inspired by Ashley’s relationship with her two siblings, I designed playful mascots and vibrant merchandise that bring energy, flavor, and color to a matcha space often dominated by minimalism.
